  • We stopped at the winery for a tasting and then lunch. Wines were great, and the hostess did a great job of walking us through the tasting. We then had a late lunch. Enjoyed it very much. Tasty and fr...  more »
  • Thank you for making us feel so welcome when you had had such a busy night before and a busy day ahead. Sorry I did not get the lady's name who looked after us, she was wonderful taking the time to go...  more »

  • Joined the tour which is an hour long, $15 per person, and also includes wine tasting. Rebecca was our guide and she is quite knowledgeable about the entire process and the winery itself. We took the platter which will set you back $50, and it was quite nice, coupled with some wine they make, which was also good.
  • Hands down one of the most professionally run tasting rooms in the Hawkes Bay. Not to mention tours available and an outstanding selection of wines. They do Syrah that will blow your mind. I personally enjoy their McDonalds series which balances high quality with avant garde winemaking ideals.
  • There are many lovely things about the Church Road experience......but....and it is a big "but"...in 2016 to only offer one vegetarian option already places them behind other establishments. When the only option is not one that the vegetarian diner likes (baked blue cheese cheesecake...seriously)then you would assume that a trained and competant chef would be able to design a dish worthy of the reputation and with the vast quantity and quality of fresh ingedients to hand. After having to justify THREE times why I did'nt want bluecheese cheesecake...and after waiting an hour (no...restaurant wasn't full)I was presented with a visually stunning long board with 3 little white bowls of 2 cold salads and some roast potatos and 2 wee breadsticks....lovely flavours, delish bread.....$27.95!!!!! Seriously?????The potential to get it SO RIGHT is huge....but to get it SO WRONG is unacceptable...and no..I am not a whinging vego how expects the culinary world to bow to me...I am a paying cutomer who expects to be treated equally to other non-vegetarian diners.
  • We stopped on a Monday and the restaurant only does platters on Mondays. But the platter and wine tasting were superb. We were well looked after by staff who really knew their wine. Fantastic 👏✔
  • Great food, great wine, great service. However, do not order the coffee, worst I've ever had without exaggeration (I think if a place like this is gonna put it on the menu next to their $30 mains, they should do at least a half decent job). I would definitely go back there again next time I'm in the area.
