Bluff Hill Lookout, Napier
(4.3/5 based on 700+ reviews on the web)
Formerly the site of an artillery battery, Bluff Hill Lookout offers a sweeping vantage point surveying the area's coastal scenery. Head uphill via a relatively easy hike, or go by car and take advantage of the parking area at the summit. Upon reaching the top you'll be rewarded with a panorama over Hawke's Bay, the surrounding hills, and the city's working port--one of the country's busiest. You can even sit and enjoy the view from one of the benches in the lookout's small brick shelter. • Great views out to sea and down onto the port. Nice seating area and small garden. Toilets available. Narrow streets to drive up. Not suitable for motorhomes to drive up there.
