  • Hard to park but it was worth it. The migratory birds are awesome to look at. Unfortunately I didn't see any Maui dolphin. The beach is also cool foe surfing. Hopefullu one day I'll be able to surf too!
  • Absolutely worth a visit. August to March each year, more than 2000 gannets occupy this rookery atop the rugged cliffs and the powerful swell of the Tasman Sea. Access is easy. Proximity to Auckland makes it an easy addition to any itinerary.
  • A very cool place for a day trip! We visited the gannet colony as an observational field trip for a biology course at UoA, and it was an awesome experience! It's about a 15 minute walk from the carpark and has an awesome coastal view as well!
  • Roughly a 15 minute walk to the Gannetts. Very smell enough to make some people gag. But a spectical of nature... some breath taking views aswell.
  • Muriwai is one of Auckland's staple attractions, and for a good reason. The gannets come and go but the sweeping views and the wild Tasman surroundings are a thrill even without the gannets - highly recommended.
