Breathe in the fresh air and admire the amazing views of the Bay of Plenty on Mount Maunganui Summit Track. Rising up to 232 m (761 ft), this extinct volcanic cone was once used by the Maori as a natural fortification; today, locals and visitors alike flock here for a day in nature. Several tracks lead to the cone's summit, and depending on the one you choose, the hike to the top might take approximately 30 minutes to an hour. In general, the treks are not too difficult, but on a hot day it's important to properly protect yourself from the sun and bring sufficient water supplies, because there are no sources of drinking water on site. • If you are going to Mount Maunganui and not raise to the mount it is as if you had not gone, rise is great for exercise and is according to your level. The views that you have since you start to climb closes with the view of the entire city that leaves you speechless, can make picnic up and wait to see the best sunset of all. 100% recommended. Every Sunday I come back and it doesn't surprise me.
