Inspirock Rating:
4.5/5 based on 100+ reviews on the web
Visit the southern point of Moeraki Peninsula at Katiki Point Lighthouse, home to fur seals and yellow-eyed penguins. Take a tour of the historical lighthouse that dates from 1878 and enjoy the magnificent coastal views. Enter a reserve and view a breeding site for yellow-eyed penguins from a bird hide, where you can observe with disturbing the animals. Remember to keep noise to a minimum and remain off the beach. Keep your eyes peeled for native fur seals, too, which laze on rocky platforms around the coast. If you go to fish, be sure to use the designated coastal access point.
