(4.5/5 based on 35+ reviews on the web)
Lyttelton Farmers Market happens every Saturday from 10am to 1pm on London Street, Lyttelton. It has been running since the beginning of September 2005.

Producers of quality food and drink sell direct to the public. Stallholders with fresh fruit and vegetables, free range eggs, bread, meat, cheese and plants sell at the market every week and there are a range of other regular or occasional stalls. Some stalls are from very small producers and may not be at the market every week.

The market is run as a not-for-profit enterprise by Project Port Lyttelton and local volunteers.

  • Good music, food, people and dog watching. Slightly alternative vibe makes an interesting contrast with Christchurch. Just come through the tunnel or over the hill. Great views across the harbour.  more »
  • My wife and I came across the market accidentally but would recommend to everyone. With local fresh produce, fresh & smoked fish, cured meats, gourmet cheeses, ice cream, herbs & spices to name a few ...  more »
  • Loved the produce, selection and vibe. Check out the cheese and the massive sausage rolls. Also bought a fab hat! Almost forgot. Get a healthy kick from the juice bar!  more »

  • Amazing variety of stalls and shops, friendly shopowners and unique experiences abound.
  • Wonderful eclectic mix of food and people. Not the biggest market in Christchurch, but quite possibly the most interesting.
  • A great variety of fresh foods
  • It's not huge, but neither is Lyttelton! The choice is good and the artisan food stalls are very good quality. There is a fish stall, but being a port town I'd love to see a proper fish market. We tend to go for the quality fruit and veg.
  • I go every Saturday! Love it!!
