Rainbow Falls
One of the area's most popular photo opportunities, picturesque Rainbow Falls cascade over hard basalt rock into a shimmering pool. The 27 m (88.6 ft) fall is just a short walk away from the parking lot, but you can extend your visit with a number of longer scenic walks starting from this point. Bring a bathing suit along so you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the cool waters below. If the sun is shining, you'll see how the waterfall got its name. By using our Kerikeri trip planner, you can arrange your visit to Rainbow Falls and other attractions in Kerikeri.

A great spot to visit, especially if you have a picnic! Not too much parking available but if you get in early it won’t be a problem. Lots of viewing platforms to choose from up top or take a stroll..... more »

What an amazing spot. It took my breath away. A visit here is an absolute must if you are up this way. Stunning. more »

A nice walk alongside the river, or a very short walk, from the Fall carpark. The falls are really pretty and a surprise so close to town. more »

Our family love coming here. We do the walk from the stone store to the falls often and always enjoy it. Great swimming spots along the way. So many special spots along the walk.

A must do when visiting Kerikeri. Amazing waterfall(s) and brisk, beautiful stream. Cool, shady bush walk with native bush all around. Do not miss this. It’s one of the most walked tracks in NZ, but never very crowded at all.
-
Incredible falls to view with a great deep natural pool to swim in at the bottom of the falls. The water is cold but if you're keen it's a great swim with a magical backdrop. Kids love it. Great forest walk along the river with really well maintained paths and a easy walk in walking shoes. Great picnic area at the car park too. Highly recommend

Gorgeous. Well worth a trip. You can get behind the falls into the cave if you are prepared to paddle, scramble and clamber! Lots of people swimming too and a nice walk along the river to be enjoyed.
-
Incredible find for any bird lover! Beautiful, colorful birds, knowledgable staff and impressively clean facilities. You can hand feed them, and you can join some in the open aviaries. Very pleasantly surprised with this close to town location. Highly recommended.
