(4.7/5 based on 360+ reviews on the web)
Find something for all the family at Queens Park, recognized in New Zealand as one of the nation's most important parks. The 810,000 sq m (8,700,000 sq ft) of this city park offer plenty of space for numerous sporting activities, including an 18-hole golf course, an aviary housing a diverse array of the country's birdlife, and a wealth of botanical gardens. Once a grazing place for cattle, the park now includes an animal reserve where rabbits, fowl, wallabies, and ostriches thrive in their enclosures. A museum and art gallery provide entertainment and education for those interested in local history as well as the wildlife and past of the islands lying off the country's coast. • A credit to the people of Invercargill. Beautiful gardens with differant sections for a rose, chinese, alpine, rhodies, water gardens. Just walk from one to another. Beautiful tree lined avenues  more »
  • What a beautiful garden to lose yourself in for a few hours. The plantings were stunning with many surprises around each bend. Thoroughly wonderful way to exercise and take time to smell the roses.  more »
  • If you have spare time, go there. But if you have better locations to visit, don't make effort going to this park, as it is average from all point of views.  more »

  • Its a pretty decent park. A little small for bikes but still fun to ride. Only downside is most good days its pack with scooter kids until around 9pm. I'd really rather not run into them
  • This is a super fun place to go with your family, friends or just for a stroll. There is an animal reserve, a bird aviary, an amazing playground and lots of other fun things to do and see.
  • Amazing park - the best park in New Zealand. Great for walking and exploring. Check out the animals corner and aviary. Hot house and cactus 🌵 kingdom were my absolute fav. Well done Invercagil for creating and maintaining such a beautiful park in the center of the city.
  • This has to be one of New Zealand's best city parks, there's stunning gardens but most importantly for the kids there's a plaground area and splash zone which kids went crazy for. Also a Woodland animals area with everything from rabbits to Wallabies - totally unexpected also there is a museum and two cafes and kids play castle there is also a "fitness track" that allows you to enjoy all kinds of physical activities, including machine assisted ones. On a nice day a must see.
  • What an amazing place. A must see attraction in the city.
