2.4/5 based on 130 reviews on the web
Spot the small, flightless bird called the kiwi at National Kiwi Centre, an indoor facility that reproduces the creature's natural environment. As the country's national symbol, the bird became so iconic that New Zealanders themselves are known as "Kiwis." In addition to kiwis, the site also houses long-finned eels, which visitors can help feed several times a day. Be sure to look for the tuatara, the world's oldest living dinosaur. This scaly reptile is only found in the wild in New Zealand and lives up to 100 years. Put National Kiwi Centre at the forefront of your travel plans using our Hokitika tourist route planner.
