Glow Worm Dell, Hokitika

(4.3/5 based on 180+ reviews on the web)
Adventure into the secret nocturnal life of one of nature's brightest creatures at Glow Worm Dell. Bring a flashlight with you on the short walk, which yields excellent views of the worm colonies in a well-maintained, sustainable grotto. The insects can only be seen at night, but the grotto itself is an atmospheric, fern-covered natural structure when visited during the day. Use our Hokitika vacation builder to arrange your visit to Glow Worm Dell and other attractions in Hokitika.

  • One of the few free and accessible places to see glow worms. It's just a 2 mins walk in and there are no lights, so bring a light source but don't shine it on the walls. The glow worms will fade out if you do.
  • We loved the glow worms and all for free ,great little place to visit, note can only see glow worms at night in the little dell at the end of a show walk.
  • Nice ! =) Although it's just a 5mins walk...the Glow Worm are amazing. Torchlight is a must !
  • just a little green light. not so interest for me. u can park arround their and walk only 2 minute in the dark.
  • A wee little dell to see the glow worms in their natural habitat for free. Be sure to visit after dark otherwise you'll be a little disappointed!
