A nice quiet place to take a stroll, jog and meditate. When you drive through the entrance you'd think the place was run by chooks. They are everywhere greeting you in but they are not a bother at all. Just be careful of them that you don't run them over. They're beautiful with many different colors. Take some stale bread with you as there are so many to feed. At the carpark entrance toilets are available and drinking water. You can take along your loyal companion so long as you keep it on the leash. ( The Dog ) that is 😉 It took me about a 1/2 hour to walk around. Longer if you have kids. It's ok to take strollers and wheelchairs through. You probably wouldn't want to take a walking frame though because it wouldn't move to well along the gravel and dirt. As you make your way down through the gravel path there's a table and seat to enjoy your picnic or lunch. Well I'll leave the rest for your visit.

One of my favorite places to go!! Love the variety of walking trails and the opportunity to be in a natural setting so close to the city. We walk our dog (on lead) and have had a few moments with people with small children who don't believe dogs should be there, my advice; if you are scared of dogs go to a park where dogs are not allowed! My girl is as friendly and well trained as they get! That said Taitua is the best place for photos and absolutely great for letting the kids (dog-friendly ones) run wild!! Over the years benches and seats have been added which means this is a great place for picnics!!! Could use a few more rubbish bins over the summer months though. Highly recommend the drive to this special place.
