  • Nice place. Kids loved the train, the gold panning and old time dressup. Was a bit expensive but I didn't mind since the kids had a great time.  more »
  • There are some fun parts of shanty town but overall i feel it has seen better days. The train was good and the guides friendly and good. It just lacked atmosphere and investment.  more »
  • Great little old time village, with short steam train, even a chance to learn to pan for gold, disappointed though went to get old time photo, lady had gone to town and we couldn't wait around- gotta ...  more »

  • The welcome by the staff member at the entry who took our money was not to good, they had to be prompted to say hello. They did not offer us any info on the place such as there is an audio guide available if you wish etc. The cafe food choice was poor but the coffee was okay. The girl that served us in the ice cream/sweet shop was happy and cheerful. The exhibits were good and it was an enjoyable way to spend a few hours. Just need to work on their customer welcome.
  • Visiting Shanty Town makes for a real trip down memory lane. The museum in particular with the old dental nurses chair, the iron lung in the hospital area both struck deep chords from the past.Enjoy your visit!
  • It is interesting but couldn't say totally worth the ticket price
  • Still a tad expensive, though I can appreciate that running costs must be fairly high! Their coffee is NOT recommended though!
  • Expensive for what you get. Young children will enjoy the train ride, and mine got to ride in the engine. The demonstration of the mining water cannon was interesting. We found the staff friendly and helpful, especially the train crew.
