(4.7/5 based on 100+ reviews on the web)
Take an easy stroll along Glenorchy Lagoon Boardwalk, where you can soak up the breathtaking views and abundant nature of the lagoon and surrounding mountains. Capture pictures of Mt. Earnslaw (known also, in Māori, as Pikirakatahi) at one of the many viewing platforms, among the scenery where Peter Jackson filmed scenes for "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy. • This is basically a very easy hike through a swamp. We had much better views hiking at Ben Lomond and Roys Peak. Nice little town though if you want lunch and shopping.
  • Took the 45 minute walk and it was great. Beautiful views, easy walk, benches along the way to enjoy the views and relax. Highly recommend
  • If it brings in a little time, this is a wonderful and easy walk, if necessary even with pushchair ;-) There on the way beautiful benches, partially in the water, and grandiose views of the Mt Alfred and the Humboldt range. Not just run over ;-)
