Eden Garden, Epsom
Categories: Gardens, Nature & Parks
Find yourself surrounded by colorful blossoms and fragrant blooms at Eden Garden, a 2.2 hectare (5.5 acre) award-winning garden. Stroll the paths to view its many plant collections including vireyas, camellias, bromeliads, perennials, and native New Zealand species. Thanks to the varying seasonality, you'll always find something in bloom here, plus waterfalls, rock formations, and plenty of resident native birds--all backed by views of the city and harbor. The garden was constructed at the site of an abandoned quarry, completed 45 years after a group of volunteers committed to doing so. Of particular mention is the its collection of vireya rhododendrons, which flower throughout the year. Lovely garden for a nice walk. Coffee in the cafe is nice & strong.
Nothing to see at this time of year. End of May. Might be a pleasantly shady and cool place in summer.
Garden of Eden, an oasis, quiet & peaceful. Good food when the cafe is open too.
