  • Nostalgic place to visit for a baby boomer! So many items to see from travel through the ages, to the story of the computer age. Something of interest for all ages. Great café too plus very safe space for the little ones to play while having your coffee. Highly recommend a visit. And..best of all..It's FREE
  • This is an amazing place! So well designed and heaps of interesting things for the kids. You can easily spend 2 hours here. Great cafe - and don't miss the Chinese garden next door!
  • My first visit since the renovations were done a few years ago. Congrats to all involved, it's a real credit to the Otago region. Great way to learn about the early settlement of the region and the changing face of Otago over the years. A real trip down memory lane when getting into the area with all the old home appliances and the technology. Loved it!
  • A lovely tribute to the settlers who landed in Dunedin many decades ago. The place is surprisingly bigger than you would expect - with the many different facets of Dunedin life splayed out across different exhibitions. You are encouraged to interact with the displays via touch screens and larger than life buses where you can get on and pretend to be in a bus from the 1950s. Extremely educational and well done to the folks behind this! Highly recommended!
  • A stunning museum with heaps to see and do. There are many exhibits to interact with and it's worthwhile allowing a couple of hours in this awesome place.

Many of the accommodations in Dunedin are based around the central George Street thoroughfare, including a wide range of hotels and hostels. Rental apartments represent a fine way to stay in Dunedin, and may appeal more to those wanting to stay on the move or take in the town and the surrounding landscape at their own pace.
