  • We had under two hours to spare and could have spent twice as long there. I particularly enjoyed the 20th century area and thought it was very well done and loved all the old kitchen equipment and vid...  more »
  • A very well put together collection of exhibitions that were both static and interactive in nature. A couple hours needed at least.
  • Our tour only allowed us about an hour to browse this huge museum which only gave us an appreciation for the variety and number of exhibits. Many were interactive for children. The cafe was also very ...  more »

  • Beautiful museum that tells you a lot about Dunedin's history. Has a lot of artifacts on display, with video narratives, a reconstruction of a settler ship's lower deck. Great modern interior design.
  • Great place, well presented and friendly / helpful staff. Could do with more information on the exhibits... But it's free so is exceedingly good value. Nice coffee shop at the entrance too.
  • Free entry. Must go if you are in Dunedin, don't miss the Chinese garden and Railway Train Station tooTells you history of Dunedin, Mainly The early settlers. Great cafe at the entry.
  • Great place to go for a relaxed wander while learning about early Dunedin. Always has great rolling exhibits too. Great gift shop, coffee shop on-site isn't too bad either.
  • Definitely worth a visit, so show you how our fair City has progressed over the decades. Some really interesting displays.
