The state-of-the-art visitor center lets you learn about these amazing birds and about the center's preservation work that started in the early 20th century.   • This is wonderful and worth the drive! The Albatross need wind to take off and thankfully this is almost 45 degrees South latitude which is referred to part of the Roaring Forties! 
  • Alone up to this colony is worth the trip. One very close drives along a narrow road along the coast. Once there you can be free very informative Museum. Sometimes you're lucky and you can see albatrosses from the platform (behind the parking lot) to save the entry
