  • Loved the view from the platform! You can see the entire city here. Quite a steep drive up and wouldn't recommend a large campervan as the roads are also very narrow.  more »
  • Here, you can see the whole but Nitin, the scenery is very beautiful. In addition to the city, the four-week mountain scenery and sea view lined to form a special scenery. These are often very attractive places to admire the city.

  • Fantastic views of the city and Otago Peninsula. When we were there the clouds were below us. Steep drive to get up there but certainly worth the effort.  more »

  • Stunning views with lovely pieces of history. The bike trails looked like fun as well will have to come back to give them a go.
  • A nice place for a panoramic shot of Dunedin. The road going to the Look Out is narrow so take care when driving. It is popular with cyclist as well. There are mountain bike tracks and a walking trail in the area. No other facilities such as toilets available.
  • Great views in the early hours of the morning just as the sun is rising. A few cars with students having Sex in the car park made things interesting to find a park.
  • One of the best views in town. Sunsets from here are beautiful.
  • Nice view, even in autumn. Just remember to take good shoes because it's a bit muddy on the way.

Where to stay in Dunedin

Many of the accommodations in Dunedin are based around the central George Street thoroughfare, including a wide range of hotels and hostels. Rental apartments represent a fine way to stay in Dunedin, and may appeal more to those wanting to stay on the move or take in the town and the surrounding landscape at their own pace. Campsites situated to the north and east of the town center give you more economical options, while motels cluster along the main highways, convenient if you're coming by car.
