Where to stay in Dunedin

Many of the accommodations in Dunedin are based around the central George Street thoroughfare, including a wide range of hotels and hostels. Rental apartments represent a fine way to stay in Dunedin, and may appeal more to those wanting to stay on the move or take in the town and the surrounding landscape at their own pace. Campsites situated to the north and east of the town center give you more economical options, while motels cluster along the main highways, convenient if you're coming by car.

  • Watched a Highlanders rugby game. First visit to Dunedin. For a covered new stadium it is is poorly designed. Open at each corner and without being able to walk around the entire stadium once inside. ...  more »
  • We won!!! Wow a great game . Dunedin turned it on. (But not the weather). Thank goodness for the covered stadium. Great place to go for any event .  more »

  • Amazing stadium with natural grass turf. What a great place to see the Highlanders beat the Lions 23-22. Someone in front obviously enjoying a fine drop of Garagista IPA beer.
  • We love our local stadium. Covered seating - which is a must in the Dunedin weather. Great location in the city and easy walking distance from central Dunedin.
  • Best sports entertainment venue in the South Island, maybe New Zealand. Great facilities and atmosphere.
  • Food and drinks are expensive but not bad compared with other stadiums in the world. There isn't much in the way of parking and you could end up pretty far from your gate. Atmosphere for the games I've been to see has been low. Announcement system is bad completely inaudible.
  • Love this stadium. Gets you close to the action, and the zoo (student zone) makes for an awesome atmosphere. Best covered stadium.
