  • A very beautiful building both on a sunny and rainy day. Make sure you walk in and walk around, go outside to see the tracks and some old trains. Suitable for families with kids.  more »

  • Spectacular gorge railway running up through taieri. Mix of older and newer stock. Train host was very informative and funny over the PA. good for and drink selection as well. Station itself is a stunning building and is freely open to wander around a bit and out onto platform. Host an art gallery and NZ sports hall of fame.
  • Fabulous 4 hour round trip to the scenic Taieri Gorge in wonderfully restored coaches. The commentary was informative but not intrusive. Loved being able to go outside on the viewing platform that each heritage coach has. We ordered the lunch box and it was tasty and filling though other hot options on board also looked good.
  • Fantastic day, excellent value. We were looked after brilliantly by Kaye and Paul, who couldn't do enough for us, what a wonderful couple. We met and made, new friends and had a day filled with fun and laughter, not to mention the amazing scenery. Love New Zealand, would recommend everyone everyone come here.
  • A really well cared for station. This is as much a museum as a station. Look at the mosaic work on the floors and the steps. The old ticket windows are still there. The platform is also good for some photos. Outside is an old steam train and when we were there it was opened up.
  • Nice experience riding the rail way. Gave a great view of the countryside. The staff are friendly. The ride was about 50 minutes. The town that we arrived in, was very quiet in need as well. Lots of shops, and restaurants. The rail station there is right in the heart of downtown. Definitely a good way to spend the day.
