Escape the bustle of the city at the tranquil Dunedin Chinese Garden, designed in the style of late Ming/early Qing gardens. Sheltered by 4 m (14 ft) walls, wander the paths from courtyard to courtyard, among immaculately landscaped vegetation that changes with the turning of the seasons. In addition to a large lake, the garden features a traditional tea house, serving Chinese teas, steamed buns, and dumplings. Puzzles and games offer mental diversion, while an audio guide explains the history of the Chinese in Dunedin.
