Where to stay in Christchurch

Offering an extensive range of hotels, hostels, motels with kitchens, and campsites, Christchurch makes a great place to set up camp as you explore the city and beyond. The greatest diversity of accommodations clusters in the city center next to North and South Hagley parks. You'll find apartments, boutique and luxury hotels, and backpacker hostels in the central district and towards the coast, while cheaper places to stay--such as motels, RV parks, and economy hotels--dot the outskirts and the area surrounding the airport.

  • Always a great pleasure to walk through ... Some of the shops need better occupiers if I am allowed to say ...
  • Nice little area, very enjoyable. Lots of different small business including cafes and bakeries, tourist shops and bars. In the middle of the road the Christchurch tram runs along. Great area.
  • Very good shopping area with many restaurants. A delicious breakfast or a nice lunch can be found here.
  • Cool wee renewed section of the city. So many places to visit and sample their wares....
  • Very cool Art Deco street. Some cool stores but would make more sense to have less travel stores, etc
