Where to stay in Christchurch

Offering an extensive range of hotels, hostels, motels with kitchens, and campsites, Christchurch makes a great place to set up camp as you explore the city and beyond. The greatest diversity of accommodations clusters in the city center next to North and South Hagley parks. You'll find apartments, boutique and luxury hotels, and backpacker hostels in the central district and towards the coast, while cheaper places to stay--such as motels, RV parks, and economy hotels--dot the outskirts and the area surrounding the airport.

  • This museum is amazing. Missed it last trip, wasn't disappointed at all. Huge collection of vintage aircraft and great displays. We spent a little over 2 hours, could even do more time here. . Spread out very well, across 2 levels, worth the trip here. Great for kids as well. Has a unique gift shop and Cafe.
  • Surprisingly good displays. Lots of informative history. Well restored aircraft. Friendly staff. Good coffee. Enough to entertain the kids.
  • Was there for a work event. Our work used one side of the museum to host 116 High school students. Cafe is great & so is the atmosphere. ๐Ÿ–’ The history in there is rich and so is the experience of being able to see the range of planes and stories behind each one.
  • Such a cool wee museum! Both informative/educational and interactive and fun. Can easily spend a couple of hours here
  • It's free! One of the most interesting museums I've been to in New Zealand and I would have never chosen to go there without the suggestion of someone else. Very majestic displays and an abundance of information and remembrance of past pilots.
