  • I really enjoyed coming here - it was very busy but people were spread out so it didn't matter. The real life size planes were amazing.
  • Visited the Air Force Museum of New Zealand in Christchurch in June 2016. This museum is free entry and is located near to the Christchurch airport. There is a display of aircrafts as well as items li...  read more »
  • Amazing museum, it's hard to believe it's free admission. Our guide Allen led us around and told amazing stories about the restoration of the aircraft. Lots of little kids running around screaming on ...  read more »
  • Well constructed and a visual feast for those into military aircraft particularly those that had been in service with the NZ Airforce. A lot to see and even hands on stuff for the adults. If you've into anything military and in Christchurch then do yourself a favour and call in as it more than justifies the time spent. You can even get there by public transport and a short walk with free entry even the tight-wads can go. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
  • It had a nice atmosphere and a great cafĂ©. They do cool birthday parties for kids.
  • The kids love visiting the museum. Exhibits are stunning and informative. Always something more to learn and exhibits rotate with new ones or new ones added. A comprehensive view of NZ air force history.
  • I come here at least once a year, not to visit the museum but to attend Arise Church service who has the Sunday service once a year when they could not use the hall at Burnside High School where they have it every Sunday. At least 3 jets park inside the hall. Looks good.
  • A nicely designed (and free - donation invited) museum with a good range of aircraft. Lacks a good play area for younger children, and the interactive 'escape' exhibit is pretty bland, but otherwise a good afternoon's trip. They have a couple of aircraft cockpits that you can sit in and they do great parties for kids, including dressing up in pilot overalls, etc.
