She's a Lady Sailing Adventures reviews
Dave and this lovely sloop really made our holiday. Well worth every penny. We loved everything about the day including the sandwiches! We even got the sails flying well on the way back. Just... more »
Firstly thank you so much for taking us on an incredible trip David. When I woke up on the day of my sailing trip all I thought was my experience was going to be commercial like any other, but it had.... more »
What a fantastic day out, as previous reviews have said Dave is a great host - he is full of stories, anecdotes and laughs. Both of our boys 8&11 were full of questions and he was never tiring in... more »
David the skipper, offers the most outstanding life time experience and shares his passion for the sea and sailing in such a wonderful way. He takes his time with everyone on board, to make everyone’s day unique and special. We took this day cruise because we wanted a smaller yacht which was not full of people and David made this a unique once in a life time trip surrounded by wonderful scenery and an awesome tropical beach location for an excellent lunch. Listening to how David has traveled the globe sailing makes you feel totally at home on the water knowing you are with an expert sailor. A perfect day that will last in our memories for ever. Thank you David for allowing use to spend time on board she’s a lady.
Brilliant day sailing, stopping on empty beach for swim, snorkel, kayak or hike. Basic but enjoyable simple lunch was provided. I can’t express how good this trip was. I was with my family and we loved every moment. We were given the opportunity to steer throughout the trip. Dave is a brilliant guy, the best host and has extraordinary knowledge of the water and area. This is not to be missed if you are around the area!
For me, personally, the best way to see what the Bay of Islands is about, if you would like to ... 1. have an authentic and safe sailing experience on a beautiful classic Kiwi-designed boat, 2. go out with an enthusiastic skipper who loves to share his local knowledge about marine life, history, and much more, 3. enjoy a stopover on one of the beautiful islands (picked by the wise skipper considering the present wind and weather conditions on the day), 4. be treated to a super yummy and healthy picnic lunch on the island stopover (honestly one of the best sandwiches I ever had, they even care for GF people and provide a drink and loads of fresh fruits and cookies), 5. enjoy a day with a small group and you'll get the chance to assist with steering the boat and getting onto the ropes, 6. have the choice to get to know other people and families from all ages and around the world or rather enjoy the trip just to yourself (the boat is big enough to have some privacy). I won't include point 7 "To get the chance to see marine wildlife like Blue Penguins, Seals, Dolphins or even Orcas" as this is naturally not in the operators hand whether you will be as lucky as us on our trip (we had an amazing encounter with dolphins who loved to play with the boat). But be sure that this family-owned and operated little company is always giving a lot more than 100% to make sure that your sailing adventure will be a memory for your life while offering a very affordable activity in the beautiful Bay of Islands.
Amazing day out in the bay of islands - probably the best boat ride I’ve ever taken. The hike and kayak was awesome too!
Great day spent sailing around the Bay of Islands with Dave and She's a Lady. Nice small group of 10. Helped Dave to sail the boat, had a lovely island stopover incl. walk, swimming and kayaking. Saw dolphins and caught a fish :D Would definitely recommend!
