  • Awesome selection of walks. Beach picnic with tables & good toilet facilities, an all round chilled day 1 hr away from the city.  more »

  • Beautiful scenery, excellent parking, good access BUT motorhomes have to park at the top of the steep hill and walk down about 1.5k to the beach (and then back up obviously). Not much fun on a hot day when all we wanted was a relaxing swim. Not impressed especially as there didn't appear to be a problem and no explanation was given.
  • Scenery is breath-taking overlooking some great islands. Picnic ground for the family or a dip in the crystal clear water..
  • Spectacular views. Great on a sunny day, or for watching a storm roll in from the comfort of your car.
  • One of Auckland's hidden treasures. Great for fishing
  • Some great overlooks of the bay. The beach is a crushed shell type so don't expect to build a sand castle there. Note that it can be a tiny bit windy so hold onto your hat!
