Sky Tower, Auckland

(4.5/5 based on 7,000+ reviews on the web)
Charge your camera for panoramic photographs from Sky Tower, the tallest structure in New Zealand. Auckland's eye-catching landmark, this 328 m (1,076 ft) observation and telecommunications tower rises over the city's business district and remains best known for its unique needle-like design. An elevator whisks you to the top in less than 40 seconds, leaving plenty of time for breathtaking views from one of the observation decks. For an extra kick of adrenaline, take a peek at the city below through the glass-floor panels. If you happen to be here at sunset, you can see the colors changing over the city and enjoy a cocktail at the tower's cafe/bar. • We were lucky as the day we chose to visit the tower was bright and sunny. The views were fantastic and we took lots of photos of the Auckland area. The glass floor is great and I noticed that most pe...  more »
  • Got to Auckland a day earlier than planned. We always do the towers on the first clear day and our first day was it. Booked at the e desk to avoid the lines but that was short anyway. Within 10 minute...  more »
  • This one is another viewing tower Ocean Pacific seems to be crazy about. Nice views around the Auckland, but not nearly as nice as Sydney for example. If you have visited Burf Khalifa, do not bother.  more »

  • Truly a landmark of New Zealand. The views from atop the sky tower are stunning. At the same time the restaurants and cafes have a very pleasant ambience. There is also plenty of opportunity for sky walks and bungees on the right day.
  • Definitely the best view over Auckland! Paid 20$ as a Student - a bit pricey. Wifi was working very well, you could stay as long as you wanted, and there were lots of benches to sit and just enjoy the view.
  • Lovely views over Auckland, particularly at sunset. The Skywalk is great and Skyjump a real rush- aim for the bullseye! Restaurant, Casino and various bars etc serve quality food and drinks, but everything costs. One of the iconic 'things to do' in Auckland.
  • So, I wasn't too sure WHAT to expect...even though I live in Auckland... Is it a Tower made of Sky? Is it owned by someone named Sky? Why is it next to a city also made of Sky? What is Sky? Isn't Sky that satellite TV channel thing? Why is TV building towers? Maybe it's a big Satellite for the TV people! WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG! It's actually a really tall-ass building in the middle of Auckland, the view is great...in fact, you can ALMOST see Mordor. If you're not a fan of heights, then it probably isn't a good idea for you to go up. Otherwise 13/13!
  • Incredible views and the kids loved it - but it's quite pricey for the family. Still amazing!
