Observation Deck Landmark
Charge your camera for panoramic photographs from Sky Tower, the tallest structure in New Zealand. Auckland's eye-catching landmark, this 328 m (1,076 ft) observation and telecommunications tower rises over the city's business district and remains best known for its unique needle-like design. An elevator whisks you to the top in less than 40 seconds, leaving plenty of time for breathtaking views from one of the observation decks. For an extra kick of adrenaline, take a peek at the city below through the glass-floor panels. If you happen to be here at sunset, you can see the colors changing over the city and enjoy a cocktail at the tower's cafe/bar. Using our world travel planner, Auckland attractions like Sky Tower can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • we choose a beautiful day to go up the sky tower and if you dine you get your ticket price off your meal so thought that was great. amazing views of Auckland...so much to see. kids loved the glass floor panels.
  • Its iconic place in Auckland.. if you want to see whole city and beautiful sainic view thats best place... You can dine in here amazing experience...and also if you adventure lover you can try sky jump and sky dive
  • For $29 you get to see the whole city and surroundings. The views are absolutely stunning. My friend tells me the sun setting over the mountains was beautiful. Sadly I was facing the wrong way. There's a very reasonably priced and laid back cafe there as well so you can have a beer while enjoying the sights. Will definitely come back.
  • Easily Auckland's best tourist attraction. Well worth going up for the $75, 3 course fine dining meal, including lift fee, which costs $23 by its self.
  • I usually avoid overtly touristy spots, but I love going into observation towers and getting city panos, especially when a city is so happily situated as Auckland. It was actually a surprisingly painless experience. Street parking was easy to find and walking to the tower was simple as was the ticket purchase and elevator process. I went on a weekday evening, so I think that is why there was no wait whatsoever. The elevator ride is half the fun of theexperience! It has a glassbottom while you are in the covered part of the elevator shaft, then opens up with the glass windows to see the city! The 360- views are fantastic from any part of the tower and there are two decks to view from. There are also clear panels that you can stand or even lay on that give you a view to the street below. It was actually entertaining to see people freak out about sitting or standing on the panels and hanging onto the window sides for dear life! The people watching up there is fantastic. It was very crowded when I arrived at the top, but getting an elevator back down did not require any waiting. All in all, a definite tourist experience that I could recommend, even with the high price tag. But, it is all in what you make of it.
