Pick up delicious local foods and souvenirs at La Cigale French Market every weekend. The French-style farmers market features stall upon stall of seasonal fruit and vegetables, freshly baked breads, French cheeses, homemade chocolates, oils, preserves, and much more. It takes time to explore every vendor, so stop for coffee and fresh pastries still hot from the oven for a pick-me-up. If you've brought your dog on the trip, or your four-legged friend is waiting at home for souvenirs, look for Auntie Briar's specialty doggie treats. • Unhygienic! I can't believe how many dogs are at this food and produce market, both leashed and unleashed. One stall holder had two dogs (one a massive standard poodle) off the leash one of which foll...  read more »
  • Great for a sunny Sunday morning. If you can get a fresh cooked croissant at the stand near the wine store it will change the way you think of croissants. If baked goods aren't your bag the juice stand makes decent mixes with friendly service.
  • The market has been popular every time I've been - but not overly crowded. There's a decent selection of food - hot food, baked, fruit, vegetables etc. I especially liked the banana and nutella crepê. There's cash out, and some stalls have eftpos, but I would recommend bringing some cash.
  • It is my favorite part of French market and my Sunday coffee place. I would appreciate more gluten free pastry. Their almond-fig cake is amazing. It is obviously too crowdy place (on Sundays).
  • Have heard the market is good. However the bar and bistro is and was a waste of money. Waiting staff were ok, however the little grouchy lady who may have been the owner should remove herself as she let them down by far. I was a little late to meet up with my group BUT it was apparent that they did not have enough food for the confirmed numbers anyway! To the point where they offered gravy and potatoes in replacement of meat where they ran out??? 1 star because you can't rate without at least 1.
  • Good selection of fresh produce, meats, cheeses and other food. Not significantly different from most farmers markets except good the additional covered areas.
