Coast-to-Coast Walkway, Auckland

(4.1/5 based on 110+ reviews on the web)
Put on your hiking shoes and trek Coast-to-Coast Walkway, a long trail extending from the Waitemata to the Manukau across Auckland. The 16 km (9.9 mi) path winds through hilly scenery with great views of the coast, harbor, colorful neighborhoods, and green parks. Look for five volcanic sites along the way, including the Domain volcano, which you can climb to its summit. Route signs are provided along the way, but some are missing, so be sure to take a map of the trail with you. Some visitors prefer starting in the south at Manukau and walking north, where the finish point has plenty to do and cafes where you can rest your feet. • but I have to admit, he didn't really impressed me. It's such a mish-mash of many things. Storage tank and ferry terminal, sailing and Yacht Harbour, restaurants, Bay, views of the skyline. It is somehow not around. Cities have solved other better.

  • Did the walk started at the quay. It is advisable here at the I-site to take an expression of the way. Is also necessarily a Smartphone or similar, because the way quite poorly signposted. 2 x, I needed the help of Google maps to find their way. Trail winds its way through the city. By parks and residential areas, and often on the road. Therefore, the way is not very natural. The views from the mount Eden and one tree Hill are beautiful. I finished the hike to the Observatory. Half hour waited on a bus, then still good drove 30 minutes to the city. So here some time schedule. Bus ride cost 5,5NZD.
