Categories: Historic Walking Areas, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.2/5 based on 95+ reviews on the web
Put on your hiking shoes and trek Coast-to-Coast Walkway, a long trail extending from the Waitemata to the Manukau across Auckland. The 16 km (9.9 mi) path winds through hilly scenery with great views of the coast, harbor, colorful neighborhoods, and green parks. Look for five volcanic sites along the way, including the Domain volcano, which you can climb to its summit. Route signs are provided along the way, but some are missing, so be sure to take a map of the trail with you. Some visitors prefer starting in the south at Manukau and walking north, where the finish point has plenty to do and cafes where you can rest your feet.
