Auckland Botanic Gardens, Auckland Region
(4.6/5 based on 190+ reviews on the web)
Be inspired by the plant collection at Auckland Botanic Gardens, where you'll learn the story of cultivation, protection, and sustainability that have created these rich, diverse tributes to the natural world. The gardens house more than 10,000 plants from around the world, and attentive and careful planting makes each of the 23 individually themed collections a sight to behold year-round. Don't miss the children's garden, which tells kids (and adults!) about the fascinating lives of plants the world over, from cacti to insect-eating rarities. The interactive exhibits and cafes add to a holistic experience for the whole family, across 64 hectares (156 acres) of proudly protected land.
