The old and the new buildings have been superbly fused and merge beautifully with the park. My own highlight is the Maori portraits but there are many fascinating and interesting exhibits.  more »

Intriguing art displays, free art gallery part from specialty exhibits, and the staff are very knowledgeable. Take the guided tour if you are able. It was only $10 and I got a wealth of information from an engaging guide who is very passionate about art (get a tour with Sarah if you can, she is phenomenal!!). A highlight of my visit to Auckland!!

Very good collection of artwork on display, the Gallery had a display of the Corssini collection from Italy, however we chose to only look through their own collections before looking at international pieces, and pleased we did. Huge galleries over about four floors and quite a few interactive displays too. There were some renowned artists on display, such as a Picasso, Claude Monet and the piece from Paolini., there was also some bizarre 'art', in the modernist feel, which is obviously not permanent displayed. The building itself was beautiful combination of restored and new built art.

First visit to Auckland Art Gallery and certainly will not be our last. Sunday visit. Specially went for the Bodies Laid Bare exhibition on loan from the Tait. However so much more to see....the Goldie deserve many repeat visits....they AMAZING and haven't even began exploring the rest of the exhibits.. Oh and loved Art classes with the models and artists sketching. The cafe was busy but efficient and food and coffee good.

This place had a nice selection of stuff but not much that made me gawp with awe. The shop was full of great stuff though; books, cards, prints, trinkets. All well designed and worth a look. The café was also excellent, serving my favourite, cold brew coffee! Worth a look, a nice afternoon.

Went to see the Corsini Collection exhibition. Always love going to the art gallery and this exhibition is definitely worth seeing. Loved it.
