Elegant gardens await you at Albert Park, an oasis in downtown Auckland. This park features palm trees, a Victorian fountain, artistic statues, and a floral clock--plus a collection of local and international plants from across the globe, like the Argentinian ombu tree. Meander down the site's paths, view the vibrant flowers, and admire the beautifully designed green space in the heart of the city. Visit the art gallery and gardens tucked in at one corner, or stop by the small museum of memorabilia housed in the original park-keeper's cottage. The park is near the city centre and has some public art and some flower beds. However, it is small and somewhat limited.  more »

Albert Park is one of the oldest parks in Auckland and shows its age with well established trees and spotted with statues and fountains. It has good views of Auckland City, very popular and close to Queen St and University. The Only thing it doesn’t have is a playground for Kids.

Albert Park is a great place to chill on a sunny day. Its one of the biggest grassed areas in the CBD itself, and its so relaxing to sit by the fountain & watch the world go by. You can also find a lot of history in the park, in the way of statues/displays with plaques explaining their significance. Yes, there are public conveniences within the park. The numerous entrances/exits to the park help to make your next destination seem just a little closer to get to =)
