This was a fun trail - pretty easy with a suspension bridge, a couple of turnstiles & a little bit of mud in places. The falls at the end was definately worth the 90min walk. We saw several Kereru..... more »

The falls can be reached via a lovely 30 min walk through dense woodland. Just one wibbly wobbly bridge to cross. The falls are over 100 feet high and were pretty enough in January but during the... more »

Truly in the middle of nowhere these falls were worth the walk through the bush. Even a wobbly little swing bridge! Loved that I was the only one there and looked like no one else had been in quite... more »

Beautiful waterfall. Not much popular with tourists. So its very peaceful. Hike is quite exciting and if there were some rain the path will be muddy. But MUST SEE place. There is nice bridge as well. The path is not much maintained at some points.

Wonderful falls and lovely short walk through high grass and forest. Worth it.

Deceptively awesome hike in a remote location. Impressive waterfall at the end of hike. Cool suspension bridge along the way. First hundred meters or so can be muddy. Great place to break a long road trip to the west coast from Rotorua.

Stopped by to view the falls on the way from Auckland to Tongariro. Probably went on a bad day as it was raining and the path was extremely muddy and slippery. Nearly fell countless of times and had to avoid the mud almost throughout the ~2km walk and back. My shoes ended up covered in mud and they were drenched. I advice wearing a good pair of waterproof tracking shoes if you visit here. The Omaru Falls at the end of the track was nice. Was it worth it? Not really on a rainy day, it was an adventure nonetheless.

Half an hour south of Te Kuiti, this is a delightfully scenic 90 minute walk that breaks up the long drive north or south nicely.
