Kea Point Walk, Aoraki Mount Cook National Park (Te Wahipounamu)
(4.6/5 based on 85+ reviews on the web)
A walk along Kea Point Walk yields excellent views of Mt. Cook (known in Māori as Aoraki) and Mueller Glacier. The well-maintained footpath starts at the Hooker Valley campground and parking lot and stretches out for 2.8 km (1.72 mi). The easy walk is suitable for all the family, including a baby in an all-terrain stroller. Note, however, that there is no shelter along the way, so walking here on particularly windy or rainy days may be unadvisable. To visit Kea Point Walk and get the most from your holiday in Mt. • This is near all the other longer hikes and can be done by anyone. Still need good shoes it has gravel. 30 minute round trip and a beautiful view of the glaziers.
  • This short and easy walk has everything ! Careful steps amongst small rocks on a gravel / pebbled path. We went in the evening and we were surprised by the forceful winds that can whip up strong "sand...  more »
  • Usually an overnight stay due to the Mount Cook village when the bus arrives, and the Hooker Valley, is the next day in the morning is common to the key points. Key points that day, the weather was so good ... The feeling was better than the Hooker Valley.
