Kea Point Walk, Aoraki Mount Cook National Park (Te Wahipounamu)

Categories: Hiking Trails, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
Inspirock Rating:
4.5/5 based on 85+ reviews on the web
A walk along Kea Point Walk yields excellent views of Mt. Cook (known in Māori as Aoraki) and Mueller Glacier. The well-maintained footpath starts at the Hooker Valley campground and parking lot and stretches out for 2.8 km (1.72 mi). The easy walk is suitable for all the family, including a baby in an all-terrain stroller. Note, however, that there is no shelter along the way, so walking here on particularly windy or rainy days may be unadvisable. To visit Kea Point Walk and get the most from your holiday in Mt. • Great walk for family. Our 6 yr did it unassisted and made some great family shots. Recommend closed shoes with walking on loose stones. Wide tracks makes easy access. would suit young kids.
