  • This is a short walk ending at the Blue Lakes with a fantastic view of the Tasman Glacier and Terminal Lake. We had multiple glaciers in the lake and at one stage had a loud explosion like thunder and...  read more »
  • Once you've made it up the 335 steps it's well worth the walk. We arrived early in the morning to an empty carpark and enjoyed/struggled up the steps but it's a delight when you get to the top!
  • Visited here as the Hermitage arrived at 15 and, after walking trails. From the hotel is about 10 minutes by car. Cross the bridge over the fine. There is also parking. A smooth gravel road to walk out and a little fork in the road. And go to the right is the pier of the Tasman River, Tasman Lake. I would go here if I'm sure in the Matterhorn Explorer boat ride. Landscape overlooking the Blue Lake and the Tasman glacier is the opposite way. Walk further and Blue Lake Road will appear. There is of course just climb the slope of the Hill, and stairs, is easy to walk. Only when the stairs halfway through construction, wooden frame from injuries to the top was installed on. Careful climb him like a balance beam, so it was not easy. And climb up to the top again is front of Tasman Lake. Bigger than the far left looks Tasman glacier. Did not have the impression that it was the glacier view for the first time, but very beautiful. Rather dirty ^ ^;, views of the mountains behind the gorgeous Lakes, glaciers, such as whole is without question the views. Lake couple was floating like tiny pieces of ice. Float strewn with chunks of giant glaciers met Matterhorn Explorer photos, while over in the boat wasn't... what in the landscape. I'm I couldn't join the activity, to participate, was right. How much floating chunks of ice season, depending on the timing. Climbs to glaciers without float and looked good. And free of charge. On the way back to the small lake of Blue Lake and then back came. Overlooking Blue Lake is in part of the climb to the Summit is from time to time not blue like names I knew. Look at all the same blue instead of green it was. Good color beautiful green, not the swamp like the NAA. The can from the road soon, so please feel free to. Little Lake no more shallow, beautiful. While take pictures like the Blue Lake with the top time at 50 minutes was very. By the way, at this Summit as unusually cold and windy strong.
