Beach
Although Plage de la Baie des Citrons remains one of the busiest beaches in Noumea, it offers plenty of space for playful water lovers. The calm, shallow water is perfect for young children, and during the high season you can find rafts in deeper water serving as diving boards. Lifeguards patrol the beach, but be sure to stay within the flagged areas for the safest swimming conditions. Look for restaurants and accommodations a walking distance from the beach. Take a look at our Noumea travel itinerary planner to schedule your visit to Plage de la Baie des Citrons and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

  • L ' water seems not very clear to me and swimming is often prohibited due to pollution. Many fish can be seen at the end of the hose to the aquarium. Swimming is supervised. And Yes yesterday a white shark in summer noticed yesterday following the cyclone Cook.

  • Pretty beach where you can walk, swim and sit quietly. Nearby, one can find restaurants and a few other shops. The only downside, is that people leave a lot of rubbish everywhere at lunch time while he is garbage everywhere. Too bad.

  • We bused here from Anse Vata Beach which took 10 minutes nad we were into the waters of a beautiful tree lined beach. Shopping centre across the road with many stores and food outlets to choose from.  more »
