  • The monastery of Tengboche sits on top of the little village from which it takes its name. Intermediate step towards approaching the area of the base camps, offers stunning views of Everest and even more on Ama Dablam. The monastery was built in the last century and has met twice in the almost total destruction. the first following an earthquake in the twenties and then due to a fire in the mid 1980s. Entirely rebuilt has love scenes are depicted entrance where shrines of Buddha. The wide staircase leads to the heart of the monastery. Open at hours that are established from day to day by the monks who perform both activities of prayer which works inside the monastery. Usually in the afternoon there is a ceremony lasting a couple of hours representing the triumph of good over evil. Adjacent to the monastery there is a lodge with a terrace which offers the best view possible dimensions important to Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse on obviously on Ama Dablam. Going up the Hill to the right of the village you will reach an interesting Stupa and you can see the DAPER stone suit ...
