National Park
Explore Nepal's first national park at Chitwan National Park, a sprawling, World Heritage-listed wildlife conservancy. The area served as hunting grounds for Nepal's ruling class in the 19th century and for many years in the mid-20th century saw egregious poaching. The park now covers 932 sq km (360 sq mi), is home to over 700 species of wildlife, and contains several conservation projects within its boundaries, including for Bengal tigers, rhinoceroses, and gharial crocodiles. Look into the various lodging and guided tour opportunities on the premises, as well as the museum and Hindu religious site near its headquarters. • The chtiwan national park comes as a relief for many visitors, especially from India. Finally space, fresh air and nature. The park lies between the fields on which you can view the daily habits of the Nepalese people. The entrance to the park and the River are located on the outskirts of a cosy village centre where you can eat and drink something nice or go shopping. When you reach the River from the village on the right side there is a nice bar with very nice terrace on the banks of the river. Very cozy. The morning walks that the lodges offering, however, seem very hard on a tourist trap. The guides tell you all about the dangers out there can occur and what do in case you face to face with a tiger get listed but all in all you with dozens of tourists on foot through an area of several hundred meters, no animal ventures into the neighborhood of so much noise. Also the jeeprit gives a double feeling, you just ride along the edge of the park and is therefore regularly cycling Nepalese against those of the field, not a true African. Still, we were lucky to see a rhino up close. The wild will there definitely are not but don't expect too much of it.
