Poon Hill, Pokhara

4.6
#3 of 42 in Nature in Nepal
Mountain Nature / Park
Poon Hill offers panoramic vistas of the Annapurna Massif, blooming rhododendron forests, and picturesque Gurung villages. The trail that begins and ends in Pokhara--Nepal's second-largest city--is short but steep and features numerous stone steps. Family-run teahouses along the way provide overnight stays and meals. Dress appropriately, as it can get quite cold at the top--especially if you visit before sunrise. • This Trekking is not only to see the view from Poon Hill, which are very good. The 5 days that usually lasts trekking going through precious and unforgettable landscapes. Trekking is not very hard, but the second day with the stairs can be very long. If you do it to being a little in shape better.

  • I got up at 4am to trek up to Poon Hill and catch the magnificent sunrise over the mountains. One of the greatest experiences of my life. If you go to Ghodepani, you must go the extra distance and go to o Poon Hill.
  • I could not make it to the peak. I could reach only the half way through. But the little that I have experienced from that part during sunrise was amazing. The long walk on the slippery and steeping stairs was quite challenging.
  • Awesome place to trek and result is stunning view. Easy trekking root
  • Easy & relaxing trekking trail. Beautiful mountain view
  • How can you not love this place. This is great place for the people who want to get away from there busy life.

Where to stay in Pokhara

The country's second largest city has long been on the radar of international travelers, so you won't be disappointed with the number of places to stay in town. Most people look no further than the lakeside area, and if you're only in town for a short while, it really makes sense to stay by the water. You'll find standard larger hotels and pristine boutiques with attractive gardens and views, as well as a number of guesthouses run by families and aimed at backpackers. If you're going to be in town for a while longer, take a look at the rental properties available, either by the lake or in some of the less-frequented residential districts.
