Learn about the Nepalese soliders who fought with the British and Indian armies at Gurkha Memorial Museum. The museum's three floors display countless photographs and items such as uniforms and medals, including the Victoria Cross--the highest bravery medal. Upon entering, the melody of Nepali music greets you, accompanied by images depicting the difficult lives of Ghurka soldiers. The rest of the first floor continues in the same fashion, with audio effects alongside informative displays that focus on military history. The second floor focuses on the traditions of each infantry regiment, while the third floor displays concentrate on engineering and transport regiments.   • Being a son of Gurkha I enjoyed my visit 100%. This visit opened me into Gurkha way of life that has been going on since 1918

  • Good place to learn about the history of brave Gurkhas. Military history buffs should visit. Nice place if you have some time to kill. Although, the lighting inside should be improved. 
  • GURKHA SOLDIERS joined the British Army since 1815 and later into the Indian Army after it's independence in 1947. The MUSEUM concentrates on their history to current British Army and the Indian Army. The displays include hundreds of PHOTOGRAPHS of the many CAMPAIGNS they took part in and their REGIMENTAL LIFE. The 3-FLOOR GALLERIES are brought alive by SOUND and COLOURED LIGHT. Displays also include uniforms they wore, items they used and medals they won. Details of the Gurkha VICTORIA CROSS winners, the highest bravery medal with their citations can also be viewed.
