Devi's Fall, Pokhara

#5 of 11 in Nature in Pokhara
Take a trip to Devi's Fall, an roiling cataract that cuts deep into the ground. Plunging 100 m (328 ft) down into the earth, the fall has formed an underground tunnel at its foot, approximately 150 m (500 ft) long. The surrounding park offers extensive views of the water as it heads through a series of arches and over cascades before finally plunging into the abyss. Reach the fall via taxi or bus from the main town or lake. Put Devi's Fall into our Pokhara trip planner to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Pokhara.

  • Very disappointing....to be honest, I have seen more spectacular flow from our garden tap! I suspect it would be a little more exciting, were you to visit during the monsoon. Basically just a trickle....  more »
  • The waterfall was little more than a stream and hard to see. The place was dirty and poorly maintained. I wouldn't recommend it.  more »
  • If you’ve got time and you’re in the area go for a peek. Not too much here but it’s a nice change from just shops. The waterfall itself is pretty small if you’re from the US/Canada/Australia or the...  more »

  • Nothing much to see actually. Just a waterfall. And u can not take a picture even with the waterfall at the background because of the Barrier. It could have made of glass instead of iron bar. Tourists could enjoy the beauty of it much better
  • This place is a beautiful location but maintained poorly. A good number of visitors visit this place but the lighting is poor the path is slippery, no facilities for senior citizens or handicapped persons, even for well abled. I got a mild electric shock as one of the cables was open but there's no one to complaint, no one to reach. Hope Nepal government will improve the facilities for tourists.
  • The falls are good, but the sight is somewhat obscured by the gorge. We can see a small portion of the falls and can bear the sound, we can also experience the water sprinkling on us from gushing falls at one point. It is an OK place to visit since it is near Gupteshwar caves.
  • Place is good, but need to keep clean, Plastic bottles and plastic carry bags should not be allow to during visit this place, there are so many bottles, plastic carry bags are dump in this water fall. Need to control on this very strictly. Local tourist doesn't have sens to keep clean this place.
  • There be no fees for the locals. It used to be a community area, good for young ones to have a peaceful study or evening stroll once. Now everything is commercialised and looks so artificial with no soul left. There used to be lively and lovely conversation between tourists n young locals who would share their stories, life in the area as it is and it was a beautiful place to go n meet new people but now it is like a movie show. Just buy tickets, enter, click pics n return. Nothing human, nothing personal.
