Devi's Fall, Pokhara

#5 of 11 in Nature in Pokhara
Take a trip to Devi's Fall, an roiling cataract that cuts deep into the ground. Plunging 100 m (328 ft) down into the earth, the fall has formed an underground tunnel at its foot, approximately 150 m (500 ft) long. The surrounding park offers extensive views of the water as it heads through a series of arches and over cascades before finally plunging into the abyss. Reach the fall via taxi or bus from the main town or lake. Put Devi's Fall into our Pokhara trip planner to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Pokhara.

  • A rapid in a small gorge in Pokhara, Nepal. Entry ticket is worth Nepali Rupee 30. Those interested in Geology and Geography might find the place interesting. The gorge contains many pot holes drilled by the stream and valley cutting work of stream can be seen. For general tourists, the place might look mundane. One may buy handicrafts and other local merchandise in the shops outside the waterfall premises. But the stuff is highly overpriced in these shops so be ready to do bargaining. Overall a decent experience. 3.5/5.
  • Cleaner and well maintained. Has informative infographics on the way. Inexpensive tickets for locals and a fair price for the tourists as well. Has a secluded feel to it although it is one of the busiest tourist destinations in Pokhara. I wish they could add a bird eye view to the deep ends of the falls and maybe enable live viewing of the same.
  • Also called The Devis Falls The views can't be seen as it is enclosed in bars. Sometimes the rocks forms a face like structure. It is one of most popular place of Pokhara gathering a good number of visitors both national and international. Though the park is small its pleasant to watch the falls enjoying the nature and sound of the water.
  • Beauty of nature. Mystery of Water fall. No one knows where the water is going after falling from the height. Eye pleasurable place. Nice place to see water's falling beauty.
  • We were here early in March and there is absolutely nothing to see. During seasons with more rainfall, it is probably nicer. Don't go here during dry seasons or go if you need to use the bathroom and want to relax a bit, then it is worth it.
