Categories: Sacred & Religious Sites, Tourist Spots
Visit Bindhya Basini Temple, a temple dedicated to the goddess Bhagwati where both Hindu and Buddhist communities come to worship. Locals pray at the temple, holding a range of ceremonies, the most common being weddings. To get to the temple you need to climb 50 stairs, but the natural scenery surrounding the site and the importance of the temple make the climb worth it. At 914 m (3,000 ft) above sea level, the site offers breathtaking views of the Annapurna Ranges. Before you enter the temple, make sure to take your shoes off and wear conservative clothes. Using our world travel planner, Pokhara attractions like Bindhya Basini Temple can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.
