4.1
#3 of 6 in Sightseeing in Pokhara
Religious Site Tourist Spot
Visit Bindhya Basini Temple, a temple dedicated to the goddess Bhagwati where both Hindu and Buddhist communities come to worship. Locals pray at the temple, holding a range of ceremonies, the most common being weddings. To get to the temple you need to climb 50 stairs, but the natural scenery surrounding the site and the importance of the temple make the climb worth it. At 914 m (3,000 ft) above sea level, the site offers breathtaking views of the Annapurna Ranges. Before you enter the temple, make sure to take your shoes off and wear conservative clothes. Where to stay in Pokhara

The country's second largest city has long been on the radar of international travelers, so you won't be disappointed with the number of places to stay in town. Most people look no further than the lakeside area, and if you're only in town for a short while, it really makes sense to stay by the water. You'll find standard larger hotels and pristine boutiques with attractive gardens and views, as well as a number of guesthouses run by families and aimed at backpackers. If you're going to be in town for a while longer, take a look at the rental properties available, either by the lake or in some of the less-frequented residential districts.
