Bat Cave, Pokhara

#1 of 8 in Wildlife Areas in Pokhara
Cave Wildlife Area
Visit Bat Cave to see thousands of bats clinging to the ceiling. As you pass through the slippery dark cave, you'll see plenty of live fruit bats, which your guide will tell you about. If scared or claustrophobic, you don’t have to go through the whole cave, but can stick to the more open spaces. If, however, you like a bit of an adrenaline rush, follow the guide and crawl through the tiny opening leading to the surface. Bat Cave is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Pokhara Edition.

Where to stay in Pokhara

The country's second largest city has long been on the radar of international travelers, so you won't be disappointed with the number of places to stay in town. Most people look no further than the lakeside area, and if you're only in town for a short while, it really makes sense to stay by the water. You'll find standard larger hotels and pristine boutiques with attractive gardens and views, as well as a number of guesthouses run by families and aimed at backpackers. If you're going to be in town for a while longer, take a look at the rental properties available, either by the lake or in some of the less-frequented residential districts.

  • If u like adventure ,yo should visit this place. U have to enter from one point and come out from the other point. The way is too narrow. I couldn't made it so I came out through the entrance. It was too dark over there.
  • This was a neat, novel experience. Less crowded than Mahendra's cave. I would recommended letting someone guide you through, to provide you with flashlights, and to show you the best way to climb out of the cave...it really is an adventure! Warning, your clothes will likely get a little mud on them.
  • Not too good.. A simple cave where bats can be seen.. One time visit is fine
  • Great experience. You will require some mountain climbing skills if you want to take that narrow exit.
  • Nice place to visit. The best part of it is that you can get out of the cave through a small pass.
