Bat Cave, Pokhara
(2.9/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web)
Visit Bat Cave to see thousands of bats clinging to the ceiling. As you pass through the slippery dark cave, you'll see plenty of live fruit bats, which your guide will tell you about. If scared or claustrophobic, you don’t have to go through the whole cave, but can stick to the more open spaces. If, however, you like a bit of an adrenaline rush, follow the guide and crawl through the tiny opening leading to the surface. Bat Cave is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Pokhara Edition.

  • The Bat Cave is a cave relatively large and with hundreds of bats in the ceiling. The entrance costs very little money, about a dollar. To pay the entrance fee you get a flashlight since you obviously do not have artificial light. The entry is relatively close after descending by a few steps, and the somewhat rugged terrain and uneven ground. The soil is full of wano's bat. It is interesting to that person that you want to experience a first time in a cave with these characteristics.

  • How will you feel when you see atleast 5 000 -10 000 live bats hanging to wall in a large dark space with one slippery narrow entrance and even narrower exit? That's what it is. Just one cave which is...  more »
  • I love bats and was excited to see the caves. Visit need only be 10-15 minutes to see what you need to see. If there is a long line at the exit, I recommend going out the way you come in.

  • You see the “exit” and have no idea how it's an exit. Then after you come out of the tiny hole- you finally know! Amazing experience!
  • Though bat is less in september but still quite adventurous. Take a guide otherwise it will be a bit difficult. Surely worth a shot.
  • Nice place to visit. Carry light & watch your steps
  • Nice little adventure... Definitely take a guide, and prepare for some climbing to get out
  • Bat Cave. The name says it all. But don't expect to run into Batman.
