Built on a tiny island on Phewa Lake, Barahi temple offers a sanctuary for Hindu worshippers and Buddhists alike. Access the two-storey pagoda via one of the many short (5-minute) private boat rides. Observe the worshippers and idol representing the goddess Durga in the form of a boar. Make an offering, ring a bell, and look at the other Buddha statues around the temple. • Well-maintained temple accessible only by boat on the Fewa Lake. Hindu temple with a Chinese flavor on an Island!  more »
  • In the middle of the Lake, the temple. Get aboard. After returning to Pokhara, the climbing is a good place.

  • One of the beautiful wonder of God's creation . A temple is standing tall with blessings of God where there is a line of people to meet the holy highness. Myself took a boat reach there too many times and used to feel like peace and relaxed the rest of the day boating around the lake. Unique place of God you must visits......
  • Take a boat to the temple - it takes about 15 minutes - and see the ornate temple! There are a few boating options so pick the one that's best for your group. We chose to take a small boat and for a first hand look at the fish in the lake. The view of the foothills of the Himalayas is also pretty amazing.
  • What could be more fun than being at a religious Temple in middle of the lake? This place is one of the most visited place in Pokhara. I love the ambience of this place. Best part of this places is being able to feed Pigeons and Fish.
  • it is the another name of wonderful and one of the best place to hangout and spend the day with your family and all your friends where you all problems can be resolved and you will experience all new features and that's why it is the place to go whenever you are tired or want to spend time with your beloved ones an most important it is being famous for the youth specially and for the elders as well i just loved to spend time here and visit here.
  • In Nepali language, Tal refers to the Lake and Barahi is the name of Deity. Literally it is the Deity who lives in Lake. The interesting part of Tal Barahi is that the glorious beautiful temple of goddess is located in the middle of the lake. Many people just come and take a ride to visit the deity. Devotee take a small boat ride to get to the temple. The temple is usually busy in the morning time and during festival season. There are lots of small shops that sell flower and worshipping materials and gift shops. It's a beautiful temple in the middle of Phewa lake. Clean and beautiful around the temple.

Where to stay in Pokhara

The country's second largest city has long been on the radar of international travelers, so you won't be disappointed with the number of places to stay in town. Most people look no further than the lakeside area, and if you're only in town for a short while, it really makes sense to stay by the water. You'll find standard larger hotels and pristine boutiques with attractive gardens and views, as well as a number of guesthouses run by families and aimed at backpackers. If you're going to be in town for a while longer, take a look at the rental properties available, either by the lake or in some of the less-frequented residential districts.
