(4/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
Built on a tiny island on Phewa Lake, Barahi temple offers a sanctuary for Hindu worshippers and Buddhists alike. Access the two-storey pagoda via one of the many short (5-minute) private boat rides. Observe the worshippers and idol representing the goddess Durga in the form of a boar. Make an offering, ring a bell, and look at the other Buddha statues around the temple. Pack a picnic to enjoy alongside the old trees and calm surface of the lake. Some food stalls on the island offer fish snacks. Barahi temple is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Pokhara Edition.

  • It is good to stop for a rest at this spiritual spot in Fewa lake , Stop there click some photos enjoy the surrounding mode then back to your boat.
  • Beautiful temple. Wouldn't say a must-see, but nice to visit. Nice view and a nice little garden at the bottom of the temple.

  • Sacred place for Hindus and one of the most visited in Pokhara. The temple is located on a small islet, which is easily reachable from any point of the Lake Shore (not necessarily stand in line and sail to paromchikah for pilgrims). If you are not willing to commit the Hindu rites, go there specially hardly seems worth it. Optimally take the boat for 1-2-hour walk around the Lake and go not island with a temple for a short time. The temple itself is a tiny, ordinary kind in Nepal. From interesting places-to the left of the temple there is a platform from which you can throw into the water something edible and admire the crowd large carp, which feed here. It is better not to disembark on the islet during the holidays and a great influx of pilgrims stampede and noise is unlikely to leave a good impression. If a lot of people on the island, you can just swim around the boat looking at Temple with water and raspugav fleshed Karpov at the place of feeding.
