Barahi temple, Pokhara
Categories: Sacred & Religious Sites, Tourist Spots
Built on a tiny island on Phewa Lake, Barahi temple offers a sanctuary for Hindu worshippers and Buddhists alike. Access the two-storey pagoda via one of the many short (5-minute) private boat rides. Observe the worshippers and idol representing the goddess Durga in the form of a boar. Make an offering, ring a bell, and look at the other Buddha statues around the temple. Pack a picnic to enjoy alongside the old trees and calm surface of the lake. Some food stalls on the island offer fish snacks. Barahi temple is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Pokhara Edition.

It is a temple of Hinduism in the fewa Lake Kojima. I went on a Saturday morning, but I felt than Nepal was that of tourists from India. To visit the temple for the column were made. And a lot of fish around the island, tourists were given food.show original

Must try the boating experience at Fewa Lake and hop by at the Barahi Temple. Very small temple but beautifully decorated. Very packed with Hindu devotees on Saturday. Barahi also known as Varahi in Hindu, is one of the mother goddesses. Barahi represent feminine energy.
Situated in the middle of the lake. Very nice view from the temple. One can also get a view of Annapurna Himalayan range, sarangkot and world piece pagoda.
A wonderful place with Goddess Barahi. A tiny island in Phewa lake.
The boat ride to the temple was fantastic. Enjoyed every bit of it. The temple on the island was beautiful. Amazing views all around.
Tal Barahi Temple is a small pagoda-style temple. The original structure of the temple is made of stone and has a thadched roof. As the Temple is on a small island in Phewa lake, the only way to visit it is by boat.
