Patan Durbar Square पाटन दरबार क्षेत्र, Patan (Lalitpur)

(4.5/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web)
Take a walk through Patan Durbar Square पाटन दरबार क्षेत्र, a social and spiritual center of town. Badly damaged during the devastating earthquake in 2015--which completely destroyed five temples--the sites here have been sensitively restored and stand in testament to the Nepalese spirit and community. Stroll between the numerous landmarks, admiring the Buddhist and Hindu temples and their idiosyncratic, yet somehow charmingly united and complementary architecture and artworks. Put Patan Durbar Square पाटन दरबार क्षेत्र into our Patan (Lalitpur) itinerary maker to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Patan (Lalitpur).

  • There is very little to see, only two courtyards, as the rest is under restoration. There are no entry signs everywhere. You can't go into any building or near any temples. A complete waste of money. ...  more »

  • Unfortunately, the signs of the earthquake are still very evident. But it gives me hope that the reconstruction works are going on apace. This place deserves to return to former glory. Much work has already been done but a lot has to be done. A visit to this square is highly recommended! Beautiful! Stop to admire the details of buildings ... the wood carvings, metals carved ... a feast for the eyes! This place exudes history from every angle! Not to mention the colors, sounds and smells that come from shops around the square: incredible!
