At 3,710 m (12,170 ft) altitude and at the foot of the magnificent Himalayas stands Muktinath Temple (Chumig Gyatsa), a sacred sanctuary for both Hindus and Buddhists. The pagoda style temple represents both Lord Vishnu and Buddhist Gompla. Pilgrims and devotees of both religions come to worship their deities, burn incense and candles, and perform rituals. Bring your own prayer flags and hang them in this holy place. Panoramic views spread across the surrounding mountains.   • My holy journey for "Shree MUKTINATH" on 4th july 1985 from Pokhara-kande-Chandrakot-Tirkethunga-Ooleri-Ghorepani-Lete-Dana-Tatopani-Tukche-Larjung-Jomsom-Kagbeni-Jharkot -Barkot-Lord MUKTINATH darshan on foot with Ajit Majhi,Nitai Konar,Dilip Mondal,Samir Chatterjee,Bibek Saha and two Nepali porter. It took 21days. This journey was one of the toughest and memorable journey for me than my Kailash-Mansarobar yatra 3rd batch in 1983, 300 kilometer on foot. "My lifelong desire fullfill by virtue of almighty".
