See the birthplace of Buddha at Lumbini Monastic Site, where you can admire monasteries and temples featuring designs from all around the world. The site combines many temples to create a huge open-air museum, with its east monastic zone dedicated to Theravada monasteries, and the west zone featuring traditional Mahayana monasteries. Keep an eye out for the many birds that inhabit the site, as well as the plentiful fish in living in a series of ponds. You can walk or rent a bike to get around the expansive complex.
