The traditional ceremony sees the family of the deceased build a funeral pyre next to the river, sprinkle it with holy water, and circle the body three times, walking counter-clockwise. The area is only open to those of Hindu faith. Other visitors can see the cremation area from the opposite bank of the river. • One of the most interesting sites. Able to view the ceremony without the crowds of Varanasi. The site allowed great photo opportunity.
  • Get to see the process of cremation clearly. Get a guide to explain the procedure to u as you see it happening just opposite the river.
  • If you are able to park the curiosity and is regarded with eyes and open mind, is a remnant of life intima of the Hindu world.
