Pay a visit to the sprawling complex of Shree Pashupatinath Temple, the oldest temple in Kathmandu, and one of the most sacred Hindu shrines. Dedicated to Pashupati, an incarnation of Shiva and patron of animals, the numerous temples and shrines of the complex straddle both sides of the Bagmati River. While the main temple and courtyard can only be accessed by Hindu devotees, visitors can explore the rest of the grounds. On a tour of the famous temple, you might encounter meditating sadhus, deer, and monkeys, or even witness a funeral pyre, as the temple attracts the elderly who come here to die and be cremated in the sacred river. • The famous Hindu temple of lord Shiva at the side of Bagmati River and few kilometer form the airport. It is busy most of the days in year and most busy at ShivaRatri and Teej (Hindu Festivals).
  • Pashupatinath is one of the popular and oldest hindu temple in Nepal. Its also one of world heritage site of Nepal. Being one of the holy place of Hindus, only Hindus are allowed to enter the temple. Each day thousands of people visit the temple . Tourist can see the hindu rituals from birth to death in the place as Hindus do the worship (puja) in the Bagmati river which flows next to temple.
  • Most sacred place for Hindus all over the world to worship Lord Shiva. Enlisted in world Heritage site. Peaceful but not clean as it should be. The daily "Sandhya Aarati" in evening is one of the most soulful experience here.
  • Most amazing place in my travel of religious is a holy place of Lord shiva(god of animals). It is a very holy place for Hindus. Main problem of this site is monkeys and pollution. Government has to focus in management of pashupatinath temple.
