  • Personally, I don't like to walk with guide and forced me to hire him at the entrance to the National Park. The entrance to the park were 565rs and the Guide 1500rs. The ride up and down the Shivapuri peak lasted about 6 hours (without visiting the Buddhist monastery) and under the constant rush of the Guide. So I recommend to start much earlier the path to avoid this. The setting is incredible, very nice. And appreciate the silence of nature after Kathmandu, but I still think that prices are excessive.

  • It has been an awesome experience. More tough than I expected. We have uploaded with a taxi up to the gate of the National Park. The road to the Park is horrible. The entrance to the Park are nearly 700 rupees per person, more 1500 a mandatory guide they put you. There are two ways to climb to the peak (where the statue of shivapuri. is One is all stairs (around 20000) and the other is through a monastery, but there are a very large part of stairs equal. Near the peak, hidden there is a viewpoint where you can see the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas. Eye with your knees on the way down. I recommend bringing sticks for this.

  • A best place to spend peaceful time. Some popular hiking routes have made this way more better. But the jungle is dense .locals believe that even tigers are seen in this region sometimes but cheetah and bears are said to be found occasionally. One can easily spend a day or two easily.
  • Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park is the best green forest for hiking. It is the ninth national park in Nepal and was established in 2002. It is located in the country's mid-hills on the northern fringe of the Kathmandu Valley and named after Shivapuri Peak of 2,732 m (8,963 ft) altitude. It covers an area of 159 km square.
  • Amazing place for hiking and bird watching. There are several routes present and each has its own beauty. You have to take a ticket from the army checkpost before entering the place.
  • Shivapuri Nagarjune National park is great place for hiking and biking. Green forest with fresh air inside the park. Can see great view of Kathmandu valley view. Have to pay for entrance fees for persona and mountain bikes.
  • Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park is the biggest nature parks nearby Kathmandu and also the water source for Kathmandu. The park itself is one big forest where you have to walk with a nature guide. You can see a lot of wild life but mostly not during the day.

Where to stay in Kathmandu

Only a few establishments in Kathmandu suffered severe damage in the 2015 earthquake, which means that you can choose from a wide range of sleeping options. From luxurious hotels to inexpensive but cozy lodges, the city offers a suitable place for every type of budget. The neighborhood of Thamel contains most accommodations favored by foreign visitors, including basic guesthouses, budget hotels, and boutique establishments offering deluxe suites. For some of the least expensive options, look along Durbar Marg, a busy street just a few blocks from Thamel.
