  • Yes the guides know the shop and we need to move up a dark stairwell and head with. The store is very nice and has a wide variety of hand-made souvenirs at elevated prices. Because this people are very badly which benefit one takes it in purchase. There are beautiful homemade cards (Christmas cards with angels...) Christmas ornaments, table runners, scarves, wooden articles, etc. Who here has no sense in it allows the Lady reading and goes down at the neighbouring restaurant superb illy coffee drink. You know that you have little time and are quite fast and friendly.

  • WOW WOW WOW!! I had no idea about this shop before I got to Yangon, until a friend told me it was the ONLY place I should visit whilst I was staying. It's just such a treasure trove and I LOVE that it is all made by local artisans and supports local artisans from Myanmar. The girls working there could not have been more helpful or informative and I left with arms bulging full of presents (my fav was the wooden chopping boards, so beautiful). In this day and age it is always best to support Fair Trade but sometimes that can come at a cost to style but not here! Pomelo is full or such gorgeous things. Please can it start shipping worldwide as I need more presents now that my stash has run out!!
  • Beautiful Fair Trade shop, with products made by different artisans from all over Myanmar.
  • A fair trade shop that tries to make an impact - if you have no time to go and support local communities in their villages, this shop is a good alternative. They have locally made nice things and while some are very beautiful they for sure come at higher price than from Bogyoke Market. Take time to peek in the shop, it's definitely worth it!
  • Quite nice stuff, very similar to all fair trade shops in Europe. Some beautiful fabrics.
  • The shop's upstairs, quite similar to many indie shops in HK. Products they sell are pretty much similar to the shop (I forgot its name) opposite to "Rangoon Tea House" with a tiny difference of stock and price. Note: some products are also available in Yangon International Airport (after security check) with a slightly-higher price (e.g. 5000K in the shop while 5USD in airport). The staff were really having fun there, decorating, preparing cake and playing guitar. Guess it was someone's birthday that day.

Where to stay in Yangon (Rangoon)

It can be difficult to find decent budget accommodations in Yangon, especially downtown, where rooms are usually small and booked months in advance. Look farther away from the city center for cozier budget options, often with complimentary breakfast included. The Kandawgyi lakeside features a number of high-end establishments.
