Kandawgyi Park, Yangon (Rangoon)

#1 of 16 in Parks in Yangon (Rangoon)
Park · Nature / Park
A popular outing spot for locals with plenty of shady trees, Kandawgyi Park provides water and greenery in downtown Yangon. Join the locals with a picnic or a leisure walk among the well-manicured gardens. In the middle of the 110 hectare (272 acre) grounds lies a lake with a circumference of 8 km (5 mi). Stroll across the long wide boardwalk over the water to admire water lilies, a family of black swans, and the iconic gilt royal barge--now a classy floating restaurant. Some street vendors sell refreshments. The park is a popular venue for concerts. • Some place are dirty. Somewhere nice and beautiful.
  • Although, it was a bit unstrong in the past, now, they have built a new one which is strong. The water is not a very clean one but you can have a jog or a run in the early morning. You can also feel the breeze.
  • One can have a nice walk but it's nothing special in my opinion. 300K entrance.
  • Very big and well maintained lake the entry fee is 300 KS like 15 cents inside there is an ancient palace where you can enjoy buffet lunch and breakfast @35000 ks
  • A large and shallow artificial lake filled with water from bigger Inya Lake. It's a beautiful lake with a more than 6000 m long wooden bridge, constructed around it. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately :)), parts of the bridge are being repaired so that you can't get everywhere, i.e. to Karaweik Palace restaurant (december 2019), walking over it.
