Kandawgyi Park, Yangon (Rangoon)

(3.6/5 based on 950+ reviews on the web)
A popular outing spot for locals with plenty of shady trees, Kandawgyi Park provides water and greenery in downtown Yangon. Join the locals with a picnic or a leisure walk among the well-manicured gardens. In the middle of the 110 hectare (272 acre) grounds lies a lake with a circumference of 8 km (5 mi). Stroll across the long wide boardwalk over the water to admire water lilies, a family of black swans, and the iconic gilt royal barge--now a classy floating restaurant. Some street vendors sell refreshments. The park is a popular venue for concerts. • Nice place for a walk along the water if you want a break but we went on a sunny day & it was beastly hot w/ little shade.
  • It's near the Shwedagon Pagoda. It's a relaxing place for a walk in the evening and there's more than 1 entrance to it. There's cafe and restaurant at certain parts of the lake. There's a wooden bridg...  more »

  • Quite huge natural space in middle of yangon.
  • Good area. you can sight seen. near from Shwe Dagon Pagoda.
  • 2nd largest park of Yangon, great photospot, many restaurant. Simply one of the best place to hangouts with your family
  • As of March 2016, the park is now free for anyone to enter (used to cost 300 ks per person). But the wooden planks of the bridges across the lakes has low maintenance and dangerous especially for children.
  • A beautiful park to have a sunset walk along the lake and an cream to keep you cool
