Kandawgyi Park, Yangon (Rangoon)

(3.6/5 based on 950+ reviews on the web)
A popular outing spot for locals with plenty of shady trees, Kandawgyi Park provides water and greenery in downtown Yangon. Join the locals with a picnic or a leisure walk among the well-manicured gardens. In the middle of the 110 hectare (272 acre) grounds lies a lake with a circumference of 8 km (5 mi). Stroll across the long wide boardwalk over the water to admire water lilies, a family of black swans, and the iconic gilt royal barge--now a classy floating restaurant. Some street vendors sell refreshments. The park is a popular venue for concerts. • Except for a few Smoochers, nobody was in the Park, the Park is an oasis in the middle of the bustling Yangon, with a beautiful Lake and many Pfanzschulen, also for orchids.

  • The park with the Lake is nearby with its Boardwalk offers (warning: loose boards!) Opportunity to stroll in the countryside and has also some possibilities for a dinner in the tourist style (Royal mountain) or as the locals in small restaurants along the shore. The terrace on the Bank just at the entrance offers a great opportunity to use the Royal mountains and the Shwedagon Pagoda as objects for sunset photos.

  • Quite huge natural space in middle of yangon.
  • Good area. you can sight seen. near from Shwe Dagon Pagoda.
  • 2nd largest park of Yangon, great photospot, many restaurant. Simply one of the best place to hangouts with your family
  • As of March 2016, the park is now free for anyone to enter (used to cost 300 ks per person). But the wooden planks of the bridges across the lakes has low maintenance and dangerous especially for children.
  • A beautiful park to have a sunset walk along the lake and an cream to keep you cool
