Kandawgyi Park, Yangon (Rangoon)

Categories: Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
3.4/5 based on 800+ reviews on the web
A popular outing spot for locals with plenty of shady trees, Kandawgyi Park provides water and greenery in downtown Yangon. Join the locals with a picnic or a leisure walk among the well-manicured gardens. In the middle of the 110 hectare (272 acre) grounds lies a lake with a circumference of 8 km (5 mi). Stroll across the long wide boardwalk over the water to admire water lilies, a family of black swans, and the iconic gilt royal barge--now a classy floating restaurant. Some street vendors sell refreshments. The park is a popular venue for concerts. • 2nd largest park of Yangon, great photospot, many restaurant. Simply one of the best place to hangouts with your family
  • A beautiful park to have a sunset walk along the lake and an cream to keep you cool
  • As of March 2016, the park is now free for anyone to enter (used to cost 300 ks per person). But the wooden planks of the bridges across the lakes has low maintenance and dangerous especially for children.
  • This place could be beautiful but unfortunately is littered with rubbish. Still a serene place to escape the noise of Yangon for an hour or two.
  • It is spacious and relaxing. There is a lake in there.
