Kandawgyi Park, Yangon (Rangoon)
(3.6/5 based on 900+ reviews on the web)
A popular outing spot for locals with plenty of shady trees, Kandawgyi Park provides water and greenery in downtown Yangon. Join the locals with a picnic or a leisure walk among the well-manicured gardens. In the middle of the 110 hectare (272 acre) grounds lies a lake with a circumference of 8 km (5 mi). Stroll across the long wide boardwalk over the water to admire water lilies, a family of black swans, and the iconic gilt royal barge--now a classy floating restaurant. Some street vendors sell refreshments. The park is a popular venue for concerts. • A typical City Park, with beautiful views of the Shwedagon Pagoda and other interesting buildings in the Park. Who wants to go not the entire Lake on the Boardwalk around (it's stretching), makes best a side trip to the West Bank and pays the entrance fee for the commercial part of the Park. The good: there's beautiful (and not so beautiful) restaurants, Cafés and bars to relax away from the hustle and bustle of Yangon.

  • Quite huge natural space in middle of yangon.
  • Good area. you can sight seen. near from Shwe Dagon Pagoda.
  • 2nd largest park of Yangon, great photospot, many restaurant. Simply one of the best place to hangouts with your family
  • As of March 2016, the park is now free for anyone to enter (used to cost 300 ks per person). But the wooden planks of the bridges across the lakes has low maintenance and dangerous especially for children.
  • A beautiful park to have a sunset walk along the lake and an cream to keep you cool
